Stoffer Fifth in Points Heading into Lone Star State - 4/1/2009

Karen Stoffer is looking to continue building on the momentum her GEICO Powersports team manufactured at the NHRA's Pro Stock Motorcycle season opener in Gainesville, Fla., March 12-15.

Stoffer came away from the Gatornationals with a No. 3 qualifying effort, a first round victory, and the best engineered award for the team's new fuel-injected Suzuki.

"The new bike is working really well," Stoffer said. "Mark Peiser and my entire crew did a great job building it over the winter. We are very optimistic for what the rest of the season may hold."

Stoffer was upset in round No. 2 of eliminations, but still amassed enough points to enter the next race ranked fifth in the Full Throttle points series.

"I was really happy with our qualifying runs in Gainesville and we are going to try to duplicate that success in Texas," Stoffer said. "Our goal is carry that momentum over to Sunday."

The next stop for Stoffer and the GEICO Powersports team is the O'Reilly Spring Nationals from Houston, TX. The event gets underway Friday March 27th.

Stoffer went on to extend special thanks to all of the 2009 sponsors and supporters.
