Stoffer Aiming to Duplicate Career Best Run in Atlanta - 4/03/2009

Fresh off of her career best run of 6.88 on her GEICO Powersports Suzuki at the NHRA O'Reilly Spring Nationals in Houston, TX, March 27-29, an optimistic Karen Stoffer is counting down the days to the next stop on the NHRA tour.

Stoffer's next opportunity will come at the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern Nationals, from Atlanta, Ga., April 16-19.

After three attempts in Houston's rain-shortened qualifying Stoffer landed the No. 13 spot with a best run of 7.08. In the opening round of eliminations the team improved two full tenths of a second and recorded the then third quickest run in Pro Stock Motorcycle history with an impressive 6.880. Unfortunately for Stoffer the run did not result in a victory as Stoffer fouled-out on the starting line with a -.033 reaction time.

Stoffer attributed the increase in performance to the hard work of her crew, both at the event and over the off-season.

After two events Stoffer is ranked ninth in the Full Throttle Drag Racing Series with 87 points.

Stoffer went on to extend special thanks to all of the 2009 sponsors and supporters.
